July’s unemployment report saw slight increases in unemployment, inching up to 8.3% from the previous month’s 8.2%, while also seeing a rise in job creation, adding 163,000 jobs according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS). The number of unemployed persons remains unchanged in July, however, at 12.8 million.
The addition of 163,000 jobs shows an improvement year-over-year, along with the unemployment rate which held at 9.1 percent since last July 2011. Regardless, the unemployment rate continues to stagnate above 8 percent. Continue reading
