At America’s Job Exchange, we know that hiring qualified candidates with disabilities is an important responsibility of employers. Last month, the United States Department of Labor unveiled a new tool, the online Disability Nondiscrimination Law Advisor, which will help employers quickly and easily determine their responsibilities under the federal disability nondiscrimination laws that apply to their business. This online tool asks users to answer a few relevant questions about variables such as the size of their organization and whether they receive federal financial assistance. Based on these responses, the advisor generates a customized list of federal disability nondiscrimination laws that would apply, as well as information about employers’ responsibilities under them.
America’s Job Exchange can help employers reach a large pool of qualified special-needs candidates through our Job Distribution & Reporting services. In addition to gaining skilled workers, this will help employers meet their responsibilities under the federal disability nondiscrimination laws. For job seekers, we have a Disability Job Exchange, where they can view open positions thanks to our partnership with AccessibleEmployment. Disabled workers constitute an important part of the workforce, and we are pleased to help in their hiring.
