Maximizing the Value of your State Job Postings

Each state has a different requirements list for jobs posted on their career sites. Many states require employers provide a FEIN and/or state unemployment insurance ID number. Others are very specific about wanting information regarding the location of the job opportunity and in the case of the state of Georgia, they also want to know who will be conducting the actual interviews.Other information often required by states may include: salary information, benefits information and specific hours the individual will be required to work.

The bottom line is that the states want the ability to track when candidates are invited to interview and are especially interested when the interviews turn into offers. If you are posting in multiple states, take the time to understand what specific job information the states require. Use this information to enhance the job listings you create within your applicant tracking system. In the long run, the states can become better partners and your jobs will get the maximum visibility.
