On Thursday, May 24 more than 450 people attended our webinar “The OFCCP’s New Compliance Developments: What You Need to Do to Get Your Organization Prepared” hosted by America’s Job Exchange (AJE) and co-sponsored by Fulbright & Jaworski, LLP. The incredible response to this webinar proves two things. One, that HR and recruiting professionals are eagerly seeking information and assistance with their OFCCP compliance initiatives. And two, there is an urgent need for clarity regarding the recent OFCCP developments, particularly in the following areas:
- The new proposed scheduling letter which requires substantially more data to be submitted to the OFCCP for desk audit
- Changes in how the OFCCP plans to analyze compensation data during an audit, including the proposed compensation data collection tool
- Proposed revisions to regulations for the Vietnam Era Veteran’s Readjustment Assistance Act (VEVRAA) and Section 503 of the Rehabilitation Act
Guest speaker Shafeeqa Watkins Giarratani, senior associate with Fulbright & Jaworski, provided attendees with a detailed presentation that addressed these concerns with precise information and practical tips to help them prepare for continuous OFCCP compliance as new regulations are approved and implemented over the coming weeks. Attendee response to the program was extremely favorable – many agreed that Shefeeqa’s presentation “was the most detailed presentation on compliance I have ever seen. This is great information. I can’t wait to share it with my team.”
At AJE, we believe that the most critical components to OFCCP compliance are education and awareness, and our goal is to provide many more programs like this one to help recruiters and Federal contractors be better prepared and positioned for success. If you missed the webinar, have no fear – we will have the recording and slides available soon. Keep an eye on this blog for more details. You can also read Shafeeqa’s pre-event blog post, which provides some excellent information and tips. Do you have suggestions for future event topics? Let us know!
