America’s Job Exchange is honoring Veterans Day and celebrating Veterans Month (November). Join us on November 10, 1:00-2:15 PM EST for our webinar ‘Hiring Veterans: OFCCP Year in review and Corporate Case Study.’ This webinar focuses on the revised Vietnam Era Veterans’ Readjustment Assistance Act (VEVRAA) and subsequent affirmative action expectations around veteran hiring.
2014 brought with it significant changes to the affirmative action obligations of federal contractors with respect to hiring veterans, including disabled veterans. The OFCCP has ramped up enforcement of Affirmative Action Plan (AAP) obligations on behalf of veterans especially in the area of assessing the effectiveness of contractor’s good faith outreach efforts. Join us as we talk about these requirements and implications of the OFCCP’s rule changes as well as best practices to successfully navigate the OFCCP’s current enhanced enforcement. Jackson Lewis will provide an overview of OFCCP regulations around veterans (Vietnam Era Veterans’ Readjustment Assistance Act). Topics they will discuss include veterans hiring benchmark, documenting accommodation requests and assessment of effectiveness of outreach. We will also hear from Time Warner Cable regarding their comprehensive veterans hiring and outreach program.
