Compliance 2.0: It’s Time for a Change

“It’s time for a change,” was the theme of this month’s webinar. Newly appointed President of America’s Job Exchange (AJE), Bill Fanning, was excited to present his very first webinar at the helm of AJE. Bill wasted no time addressing the “elephant in the room” with the majority of our federal contractor customers… today’s compliance is broken. And the only way to affect change is by identifying the frustrations today’s recruiters have with what’s become a “check the box” obligation, and providing them with a solution that redefines their expectations of diversity recruitment and Office of Federal Contractor Compliance Programs (OFCCP) compliance. The time to disrupt is now.

Bill first discussed the current challenges most employers face regarding OFCCP regulations. There are numerous job posting and job distribution sites that make meeting required expectations a “set it and forget it” experience for federal contractors. But while their compliance obligations may be met, diversity candidate flow from these solutions is rarely adequate.  This is because the “generic job push,” a common tool in the recruitment space, doesn’t target diversity candidates where they are online.

Next, Bill explained AJE’s Diversity Recruitment solution, which leverages data to intelligently target the diversity community on the sites they engage with most.  By posting and promoting jobs on relevant sites, then shifting budget based on the most effective efforts, AJE can optimize the return on our customers’ investments.

AJE has developed the AJE Diversity Network as a solution to simplify the process and intelligently engage and deliver the RIGHT candidates…and the early results are jaw dropping.

Alan manages the customer experience of the customers he works with directly, in addition to running our team of Account Managers who jointly service AJE’s 1,000+ customers.

Q: Please share with us your background and why working on Account Management makes sense for you?

A: Hi, I’m Alan Klapman the Director of Account Management here at America’s Job Exchange (AJE), the leading diversity recruitment and OFCCP compliance solution provider. I’m responsible for managing customer relationships and facilitating customer empowerment for their mandated workforce requirements and diversity recruitment initiatives.

In addition to being the driving force behind AJE’s successful customer engagement program, my primary focus is building true partnerships with our customers. I’ve been in this industry for over 15 years; always striving to be a trusted advisor by supporting our customers questions and concerns regarding OFCCP requirements and recruitment strategies.

Before coming to America’s Job Exchange, I spent time as an Internet Recruitment Consultant for Monster.com, where I focused on maintaining and expanding relationships with existing customers and helping them maximize Internet recruiting through their available portfolio of products and services.

ASK THE EXPERT: Diversity Recruitment with Jim Janson, AJE VP of Engineering

Up next in America’s Job Exchange (AJE) ‘Ask The Expert’ blog series, we are featuring Jim Janson, VP of Engineering. Jim lends his expertise both behind the scenes with our product and out in front with his extensive industry knowledge.

Q: You can’t be the Vice President without having proficiency in certain areas. Can you tell us what your areas of focus are at AJE and the unique position you have? 

A:  I have been leading the engineering team at America’s Job Exchange for the past 6 years.  In this role I work with the team that develops and maintains our network of websites, the systems for getting jobs from customers, job distribution services, the Outreach Management Solution, and all of the reporting that support those activities.

Q: How do you use your expertise to assist our customers here at AJE?

A: I work closely with our Sales and Account Management teams to understand the needs of our customers.  I take that input along with my engineering knowledge of our systems to develop proposals for products and enhancements.  This enables us to quickly implement features that help our customers continue to be successful. From the NILG Floor

August 5-8, 2014, were a few busy days for America’s Job Exchange. Exhibiting at NILG, we were in the midst of the electrifying atmosphere of the 50th year of the Civil Rights Movement and a host of employers who were actively seeking to recruit talent of diversity and understand the compliance issues that are related with affirmative action and EEO hiring.

We were happy to display our compliance solution to many prospective customers and thrilled to see many of our existing customers who stopped by to say hello. The new regulations that have tightened the requirements for diversity hiring, especially for veterans and candidates of disability, make outreach and OFCCP compliance related steps even more critical. Outreach and reporting are two sides of the same coin, so effective outreach has to go hand in hand with meticulous and organized reporting. Continue reading
